Delivering Ireland’s Largest District Heating Installation at the Glass Bottle Site
McKeon Brothers are proud to have delivered the largest-diameter district heating system ever installed in Ireland — completing the prestigious Glass Bottle Site project in Dublin two weeks ahead of schedule, with a flawless safety record and zero defects.
Appointed by John Sisk & Sons, we were responsible for the full supply, installation, and testing of approximately 1,800m of 610mm / 139mm Logstor pre-insulated pipework, forming a key part of the district heating infrastructure mandated under the Poolbeg West and North Lotts SDZ planning guidelines.
From pipe fitting and welding to QA/QC, band jointing, and system commissioning, all works were carried out exclusively by McKeon Brothers’ highly trained, in-house personnel — with every weld tested using PAUT to ASME IX and ISO 5817:2023 Quality Level B standards.
This complex process involved:
- Full mill certification and traceability of all components
- 320 welds and 320 band joints, all with a 100% pass rate
- Integration of a full leak detection system using Logstor Weldmaster technology
- Over 10,250 man-hours worked with zero LTIs
Recognised by Logstor as one of the finest installations ever carried out using their system, this project showcases our ability to deliver high-performance mechanical infrastructure to world-class standards — safely, efficiently, and with complete quality assurance.
