Nicole has been an artist since she was old enough to hold a crayon. Always experimenting and trying new things, her biggest talent in with color! Nicole attended Pratt Institute, an art school in Brooklyn New York and she graduated from Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach, Ca. Her degree was in fine art with an emphasis in graphic design and advertising. After graduating school she got an amazing experience to work at BBDO, New York where she would be hired as a jr. art director. This jumpstarted her amazing career in advertising as she worked on Clients like Pepsi, Snickers, Kettle One Vodka,, At&T, the LA Times and so many more throughout her career. When Nicole first got injured, she thought she would be out for 3 months and then back to work at rebranding FEI but her leg persisted to be a problem along with her flaring lupus. One of the hardest things that Nicole ever had to do was to walk away from her career.

After walking away from her career, she spent a lot of time getting some much-needed rest and is coming back to her fine art roots. Nicole’s biggest passion aside from the arts is being an advocate in the chronic illness community by telling her story (can we have the story light up and take you to a page on my Instagram where I update people on my story, picture of me in a grey hoody, side profile, first one , blue shirt on under grey hoodie). “It’s one of the hardest things I have ever done but I want us, the chronically ill, to have a voice. The only way that happens is if someone steps up. I guess that someone is me.”

Carly Lake is one of the people that has been steadfast in helping me achieve my goal has been my caretaker and best friend.  Carly is a fantastic writer and “Idea person” We bounce ideas back and forth all of the time and this is how we come up with ideas for this site.
